Now the important part of it, is not to get anxious.Water may enter the phone in many ways.While walking by rain or by splash of water.Or it can fall in bucket full of water.Or in many other ways.If that occurs don`t get scared.Just hold on.You have to understand certain things first.
A mobile phone has different parts.The most important are the battery and the inner circuit.Water can cause problems in those structures.
As soon the mobile comes in contact with water try to take the phone out of water.Switch off the mobile phone and take the battery out.Do not shake the mobile phone.As water can enter within small structures.Then it is more dangerous.
Battery is the power source.If you keep the battery within the phone it can power the phone that can short the inner circuits resulting in heat production.That can damage the phone.
After that try to wipe out water from battery and phone very carefully without damaging anything.You can use dry cloth.But not tissue paper.As it can get stuck.
You can put the mobile phone and the battery under sunlight.That also make it water free.Just be sure not to overheat the phone.Do not use hair drier.It will damage the phone.
Lastly here is the the amazing method that I come across.It is to put the phone and the battery carefully in a bowel full of free and dry rice.Rice will absorb the water from the phone and battery.And again wipe with a dry cloth.Then wait for at least 24 hours before you put the battery in and switch on the phone.If all goes well the phone will start.If you feel that the phone is heating or so, contact a mobile phone mechanic.
N.B. There is a white mark, rounded or rectangle, on every battery, that if turns red or pink, indicates that the phone is water damaged or it came in contact with water.
